The Committee to Save Mount Manresa Announces Jimmy Max Dine Out and Pennies From Heaven Drive & Yard Sale

(Staten Island) – Jimmy Max Restaurant is supporting The Committee to Save Mount Manresa with a Dine Out event on Thursday Nov 14. The restaurant will be donating 50% of all proceeds from its two locations (280 Watchogue Road and 150K Greaves Ln.) towards the Save Mount Manresa Fund. Diners have all day 11am to 11pm to participate in this great fundraiser to Save Mount Manresa.

“Jimmy Max is incredibly generous to do this fundraiser for us and we are so thankful. These events are so important to raise money for our legal and expert fees but it also helps us spread the word about how precious Mount Manresa is to our environment and community .” says Jack Bolembach, President of the Committee to Save Mount Manresa.

Since people are becoming aware of Mount Manresa’s history, its sacred ground, its beautiful natural landscape, hillsides formed during the last Ice Age, the unique very rare Old Growth trees and historical structures, they become supportive of the comittee’s goal to preserve and protect Mount Manresa. This beautiful landscape also plays a major role in the the health and quality of life for all Staten Islanders. That’s why it is so critical we get the word out about our efforts to save it.” said Bolembach.

The Jimmy Max dine out on Nov 14 is just one of the many fundraising efforts the Committee to Save Mount Manresa has been working on. They will be having a Save Mount Manresa Yard Sale at their Saturday Rally location (Narrows Road North in front of Stone Manresa Sign) on, Saturday, November 16.

The Yard Sale starts at 8am on Saturday. Donations of items to sell as well as donations for the Save Mount Manresa “Pennies From Heaven Drive” are welcome.

“We are a passionate pro-environmental group and have been meeting and rallying consistently for the past 22 weeks. We are dedicated and determined to do all we can as a committee of Community Board 1, through our local elected officials and supported by all the Staten Island environmental organizations to actively work at preserving Mount Manresa.”

“I hope Pope Francis will read our letters and will spare the destruction of Mount Manresa by not approving the sale to the builder but ensuring that a future sale be conducted in an environmentally legal and sensitive way that protects the property’s historic structures and natural landscape.” said Bolembach.
